Spooky Skate Camp Recap: A Day of Fun, Learning, and Community!
This October, Varsity Skateboarding Organization hosted its annual Spooky Skate Camp, and it was nothing short of amazing! With over 60 attendees, including skaters of all ages, this free skate camp turned out to be a perfect blend of skateboarding, community, and festive fun. The day was packed with activities that not only brought people together but also helped beginner skaters sharpen their skills in a supportive, high-energy environment.
Skate Lessons and Games
The camp kicked off with free skate lessons led by some of our best local skaters who generously volunteer their time. Whether attendees were just getting started or looking to improve their tricks, our instructors made sure everyone had the chance to learn something new. From just learning how to balance to basic tricks, the lessons catered to all skill levels. And to keep the excitement going, we held fun skate games with prizes for everyone from the youngest skaters to the more seasoned participants. Watching skaters challenge themselves and each other while cheering each other on was a true highlight of the day!
Prizes and Treats
No skate camp is complete without some fun prizes, and Spooky Skate Camp didn’t disappoint. We handed out awesome prizes like skate gear, stickers, and more, adding to the sense of excitement and camaraderie. Of course, we couldn't forget about the treats! Thanks to Shake Shack, we had a snack break featuring free custard and water for all the campers, parents, and volunteers. The sweet treat was the perfect way to recharge between skating sessions and gave everyone a chance to relax and mingle.

FIT Muscle & Joint Clinic
In addition to all the skateboarding action, we were thrilled to partner with FIT Muscle & Joint Clinic to offer free adjustments and consultations throughout the camp. Skate instructors, parents, and vendors took advantage of the opportunity to get expert advice on staying healthy and preventing injuries—something so important in our sport. FIT Muscle & Joint Clinic’s team provided care and insight that not only helped our instructors but also showed our community how to stay active and safe while doing what they love.

Building Community
What truly made Spooky Skate Camp special was the sense of community that filled the park. Skaters, parents, vendors, and volunteers came together to make this event more than just a day of skating—it was a day of connection. The energy was contagious, and it was inspiring to see everyone come out to support each other. For us at Varsity Skateboarding Organization, this is what it’s all about: providing free resources, encouraging personal growth through skateboarding, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome.
